Whitaker, R. D. published the artcileIodine monochloride and iodine trichloride systems involving pyridine and quinoline, Application of Pyridine Iodochloride complex, the publication is Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry (1962), 285-9, database is CAplus.
Spectrophotometric studies indicate that only addition compounds with 1:1 stoichiometries are present in significant concentrations in CCl4 solutions of ICl or ICl, with heterocyclic amines. However, thermal studies reveal that in the solid state, in addition to the expected 1:1 type compounds, the system ICl4-pyridine forms C5H6N.2ICl3 (m.p. 140°) and ICl3.2C5H5N (m.p. 69° incongruent) and the system ICl2-quinoline forms ICl2.2C9H7N (m.p. 81°). The system ICl-quinoline forms only the 1:1 type compound, and a reinvestigation of part of the system ICl-pyridine confirmed the absence of a compound with a mole ratio of 1: 2 of ICl to pyridine.
Journal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry published new progress about 6443-90-9. 6443-90-9 belongs to iodides-buliding-blocks, auxiliary class Pyridines, name is Pyridine Iodochloride complex, and the molecular formula is C40H35N7O8, Application of Pyridine Iodochloride complex.
