ULTRASONIC MEASUREMENTS OF SOME 1/1 ELECTROLYTES IN CHLOROBENZENE PLUS METHANOL MIXTURES

Ultrasonic velocities and densities of some electrolytes namely tetrabutylammonium iodide (Bu(4)NI), tetrapropylammonium iodide (Pr4NI), tetraethylammonium iodide (Et(4)NI), potassium iodide (KI), sodium iodide (NaI) and lithium nitrate (LiNO3) have been measured in chlorobenzene + methanol mixtures at 2MHz at 25 degrees C. Various derived parameters such as acoustical impedance (Z), adiabatic compressibility (beta), apparent molal compressibility (phi(kappa)), relative association (R.A.), intermolecular free length (L(f)) and solvation number (S-n) have been calculated. The results have been discussed in terms of nature of electrolyte and solvent mixtures.
